Our company name ties back to Greek mythology and the Greek God of the North Wind, Boreas.  Boreas had twin sons, Calais and Zetes, also known as the Boreads, both born with wings.  While sailing with Jason and the Argonauts to pursue the Golden Fleece, they rescued Phineus, King of Thrace, from the Harpies, female monsters in the form of a bird with a human face.

 

Calais and Zetes drove the harpies away without killing them, extracting a promise from Iris, personification of the rainbow and sister of the Harpies, that King Phineus would no longer be bothered by her sisters. Out of gratitude, King Phineus told the Argonauts how to pass unharmed through the Symplegades, a pair of rocks at the Bosphorous Strait that clashed together randomly.​
